I see. I have gotten myself a server instead, now I’ve shifted my blog to the following URL:

It is using the wordpress platform.

I think if you have an account here in wordpress.com you have a very limited featured than the one you have to self host and subdomains from any sites who accept subdomains…

I have a site which I open for subdomain only wherein you have the full features of wordpress like yourdomain.com but but my subdomain is is-cute.net you can have urname.is-cute.net visit this here’s the site of one of my subhostee http://shiro.is-cute.net/

so… the “text widget” is just for those paying for extra services? that would explain why I can’t make it work – but I wish it would tell me I couldn’t use it, instead of *looking like* it shoud work and not…

Yeah, but Blogger can do it, so I don’t see why WordPress can’t. But actually, it’s because WordPress charges to allow you customize your blog. WordPress doesn’t have the seemingly endless funds that Google possesses, so charging to customize is one of their ways of monetizing WordPress.com.

WordPress.com is very elegant, but free customization and the ability to make money from your blog (if you so choose) does make Blogger look attractive.

The FAQs makes it clear that we cannot edit our templates. We are all on a multi-user blogging platform and if you could edit your template then every other blogger with the same theme would find their blog likewise affected. http://faq.wordpress.com/2005/09/27/edit-my-templates/

actually.. u can’t.. wordpress.com users cannot install scripts or modify the HTML of their blog templates.. i’m sorry. does it burst ur bubble abt wordpress now?

u could consider getting a self-hosted blog, n getting ur own domain, like many others. then u can edit and install any theme u want.
